This other lamp in the form of a hydraulic organ bears great resemblance to the previous one, though of less careful workmanship. The water cistern is hexagonal and has on its front a decorative motif consisting of leaves. There is only one pump, on the left, whose proportions are comparable to those of the instrument described above. The wind chest is thicker, without any inscription, and is decorated with a kind of moulding framing it. On each side are the lamp nozzles, simple domes with a large hole where the wick was placed.
Like the instrument from the Musée Lavigerie, this one has on its front face a rank of eighteen pipes whose mouths are perfectly reproduced. These pipes are held by an oblique bar decorated at its ends with a rounded motif. On the back face of the organ two other ranks can be seen, the pipes of one of which measure exactly two-thirds of those of the front rank, while those of the other measure half. The keyboard is reproduced in a very summary fashion, as is the organist, of whom only the legs and the front of the thighs remain.
We are confident that this lamp, dating to the same period as the previous one, also came from the workshop of the “Possessor.” One may therefore conclude that the hydraulic organ was at that time sufficiently widespread in Numidia to prompt its inhabitants to light their way, on occasion, with a lamp reproducing its form.
