Within an initial letter “T,” enriched with leaf motifs and small human and animal faces, the solemn scene of the Consecration of the Church is depicted. A bishop, wearing the mitre and liturgical vestments, symbolically strikes the door of the sacred building with his crozier; beside him, a tonsured deacon holds a book closed with two straps. The entire action stands out against a precious golden background. The decoration continues in the lower margin, where a scene of monastic life unfolds: two tonsured monks are engaged in singing or prayer. One of them holds an open book on a lectern, while the other plays an organ whose pipes are supplied by bellows operated by an assistant.
