At the centre of the scene, the Virgin Mary is depicted kneeling in a gesture of humility, veiled and with her hands crossed on her chest. Before her sits Christ, wearing a conical crown and seated on a majestic throne built on several levels like a small building. Both figures are surrounded by angels, some of whom are kneeling and form a true celestial orchestra. Among the musical instruments the angels are playing, two tambourines, two viols, a trumpet, a flute and an organ can clearly be recognised, solemnly accompanying the moment of the Coronation.
