Along the margins of this page, which contains the liturgical passage between the end of None and the beginning of Vespers for the Christmas Vigil, a rich decorative apparatus of flower and leaf motifs unfolds. In the right margin a mermaid with a scarf appears, depicted with her head turned back in a dynamic pose. The lower border is occupied by the figure of an angel wrapped in a long blue robe: the angel is partially kneeling and stretches out his left hand to play a small portable organ, visually accompanying the solemnity of the sacred texts on the page.
